How Do We Clean Woven Wood Shades?

Cleaning Guidelines for Woven Wood Shades

Cleaning woven wood shades are easy but requires a gentle approach to preserve their natural beauty and integrity Here’s a step-by-step guide:

1. Regular Dusting:

• Use a feather duster or a soft, dry cloth to gently remove dust. Regular dusting prevents dust accumulation and maintains the appearance of the shades.

2. Vacuum Cleaning:

• For a deeper clean, lightly vacuum the shades using the brush attachment. Ensure the vacuum is set to a low suction setting to avoid damaging the fibers.

3. Spot Cleaning:

• Address spills or stains immediately. Gently wipe the affected area with a soft cloth dampened with water and use a neutral cleaning agent . Avoid using harsh chemicals or detergents, as they may damage the natural materials. Let them air dry in the shade, do not let them dry in the sun as it can damage them.

4. Avoiding Water Immersion:

• Do not immerse woven wood shades in water. Excessive moisture can warp or discolor the natural materials.

5. Professional Cleaning:

• For persistent stains or thorough cleaning, consider professional cleaning services specialized in treating natural woven materials.

6. Maintenance Tips:

• Avoid exposing the shades to prolonged direct sunlight, which can cause fading.
• In humid environments, ensure adequate ventilation to prevent mold or mildew growth.

It is crucial to note that woven wood blinds should not be machine washed. The natural materials and construction of these blinds are not designed to withstand the rigors of machine washing, which can cause significant damage.

By following these cleaning and maintenance tips, you can keep your woven wood shades looking fresh and elegant for years to come.
